                          Interested in training for the 1/2 or full marathon?  Complete form below!

                        Backyard Fitness and Young Guns Running Group are excited to be joining forces to offer a marathon and 1/2 marathon training group.  Our goal is to offer two free training days a week in order to get runners prepared for the Austin Marathon on February 19th, 2012 or for any fall marathon.  We will have the following workouts for participants:

                        Quality Running @ O. Henry Middle School Track - Wednesdays @ 6pm
                        Led by Allison Phillips M. Ed., Backyard Fitness founder. This mixed-level class emphasizes body-alignment, technique, and form, all crucial to running efficiently and staying injury-free, and for the more experienced runners in attendance, interval work, hills, and speed drills will be included to pop you off that fitness plateau you've been enjoying for a while and take you to the next level. Furthermore, no matter what your current level of running fitness, whether you're just starting or you're an old-pro who has pounded the pavement for years, with this specialized class you'll improve overall endurance, pace/speed, leg strength and power, and postural/core strength.

                        Quantity Run (Locations to Change Weekly) - Saturdays @ 7am
                        Led by Larry Chauvin, Young Guns founder.  This class is designed to prepare runners for Austin's half or full marathon. The class location will change weekly, allowing for variety in workouts as well as course-specific training. And the distance/duration/mileage will increase gradually and safely, leading up to the race in February.
                         
                        Aside from the two workouts a week, we will provide you with a training calendar, give you nutrition advice for running, stretching tips, and we will create a support system for one another.  Our goal is to have 2 to 3 fundraisers throughout the training to raise money for the Beyond Batten Disease Foundation.  No doubt, our group will be meaningful, motivational, and memorable!
